Fact: I tend to only do things if I can give it my full attention. If only I know that I can make/create/do it to my fullest potential. If only I know I can execute it the way I want to. If only I can see a successful end result. In theory it may seem like a pretty good way to go about things but in reality it prevents me from doing a lot of things. Like really, AAAAAA LOT of things. So the decision has been made (literally 10 mins ago). That will no longer be the way I navigate my way. That quick decision has manifested itself into this post.
I have for over a year now contemplated starting up a blog (you can even see my first attempt above, errr below) but in true form I never pulled the trigger because I haven't had the time to give it my full attention. I haven't had time to do the research (I seriously have no idea really what having a blog entails), no time to create a really pretty space for said blog on blogger, wordpress, etc... no time to really put thought into what I would even blog about. So I'm just going to take the leap.... here. Not the best space or forum for it necessarily, but it's a start.
So feel free to read on. A few warnings... there will undoubtedly be countless posts about my girls, my husband, and my attempts to navigate my way as a small business owner in an industry that I'm still trying to find my place in. It will be chalk full of unedited content, grammatical errors (I pretty much write the way I speak which is far from eloquent) ridiculous typos, and more than likely a made up word/phrase here or there.
Lastly, because I feel I should blog about more than just me making the decision to start blogging, here is my take on the New Year. I do not make resolutions (don't take this start of the blog as such, cause it's not ;) nor do I typically feel overly optimistic about anything, but the way the prospect of a new year makes everything seem like it's a possibility is undeniable. Reality tends to set in around January 15th or so in my experience, but for those first few moments everything just seems to be within your reach. So here's the most optimistic thing that will come from my cynical mouth... Embrace it, even if only for the smallest of moments. Be daring, step out of your comfort zone, put yourself out there, think outside of the box, be uncomfortable, be scared but do it anyways. (look at me being all Jerry Mcguire mission statement-y)
That's all :) Oh, and I hear comments on your blog is a good thing, so please feel free to leave your $.02!
