About the Baker
I have always marched to my own drummer, which my parents must have known the day I was born. Rather than giving me a popular name like most parents in Southern California were doing, they chose "Stevi Nicole" (after the singer Stevie Nicks). I struggled as a little girl with a "boy's" name, but learned early on that being different and creative was a blessing, not a curse.
Throughout my life I have been inspired to create using my imagination and confidence. I have always had an eye for design from flower arranging and crafting to fashion and interior design.
After working for several years in the interior design industry, the opportunity arose for me to become a stay-at-home mom and in my new found free time, I began baking for family and social events. Before long, I had put aside standard recipes and started developing my own concoctions and decorating each baking project with a different theme and unique twist. Within months my new self-taught hobby started taking hold and I was receiving requests from my daughters' preschool, family, friends and neighbors to customize cakes and cupcakes for their celebrations.
I'm constantly reading, taking classes and experimenting to ensure that I am creating the best products possible. My cakes and cupcakes have grown from my passion for creating, and I take immense pride in everything I do and I have the highest of standards for my products.
Making fresh, moist, unique cupcakes and seeing the joy in people's faces at first site, and again at first bite, is to me the greatest reward.
